MINUTES OF    MEETING HELD

TUESDAY 10TH JULY   2018

  1. TO RECEIVE QUESTIONS FROM MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC : No Order of Business had been posted to the website, this must have been an oversight., as the information had been sent.
  2. POLICE Report: PCSO. Herring gave the report for the last quarter there had been 129 calls, , which was 30 down on the last period. , 15 calls suspicious activity, 27 calls road related RTC damage, 2 fraud/forgery targeting the elderly purporting to be from Inland Revenue/Tax office,7 ASB, 7 ASB environment1 criminal damage, 4 thefts vehicle crime. Operation Bramble had been a success utilising the mini police from the primary school, 4 vehicles were found to be speeding

Members requested that parking in Uppertown & Lydgate Lane be looked at when school drop off/ pick up.

Speeding in Lydgate Lane had reduced and there would be no speed humps put in place.

  3. MATTERS ARISING : The refuse collection facility at Frosterley had been reviewed and no change would take place, the problem of queues is thought to arise as persons wanting to use the facility are arriving before it opens at 9.00 am
  4. MINUTES OF SKATE PARK WORKING GROUP MEETINGS

Next Skate Park Meeting to be 25th July at the St. Anne’s Centre.

  1. CORRESPONDENCE: WW1 Commemorations, more information was needed, to  discuss at September meeting.

County Durham Plan, Town Hall Wednesday 18th July 4.00 pm – 7.00 pm,

  1. RECREATION GROUND:  Hockey Pitch enquiry site meeting 29th June . It would not be possible to have a hockey pitch and football pitch on one site as Durham F.A. would not allow other markings on the football pitch.

The proposed cost of £600k was found to be prohibitive and exorbitant  and more open space would be lost. An e mail from Mr. Lambit  Hockey England was awaited.

  1. MEMBERS REQUESTS:A member expressed thanks to Michael Urwin for the good work done in the churchyard, and also thanks to the church wardens for a job well done.

A community Day would be held 4th August at the recreation ground.

A travelling caravan had entered the recreation ground at the weekend but had not stopped overnight. , 2 campers had also pitched their tents and a car on the field. The locking of gates needed reviewing bearing in mind that the overflow car park is essential in summer.
