MINUTES FOR MEETING HELD

WEDNESDAY 11TH March 2025

         MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC: 4 Members of the public attended           

The Chair expressed his & the Council’s thanks to Alan Vipond, who has recently resigned as a Parish Councillor after serving for two terms.

3. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST: Cllr Savory – Planning Matters
4. MINUTES OF MEETING HELD 12th February 2025: Minutes were agreed as a true record
5. MATTERS ARISING:
   1. New Toilets –Footpath works are now complete                                                                     
   2. Website – The working group to meet again & prepare information to go to the website designer. Cllr Savory will ask the school if they can design a new logo.                                                                                                                 Action SAB, DS, SB, AS
   3. Christmas – It was agreed a working group would be set-up after the elections to co-ordinate events over the weekend commencing 28/11/25.
   4. Flagpole –Moving the existing flagpole could be costly. Clerk to look into the cost of providing a new flagpole & looking at locations.                          Action SAB
   5. Dog Incident – Cllr Savory has spoken to the Police & the Neighbourhood Wardens, who have visited Wolsingham and put up additional signage.
   6. Wear Bridge Repairs – Works are likely to commence in early May with some road closures which will be kept to a minimum. Cllr Savory has requested the bridge be painted blue.

7. MAINTENANCE WORKS:
   1. St Anne’s Hall– Cllr Savory suggested the Trades4care group for any painting requirements.
   2. Recreation Ground – Following tree works a tree inspection has highlighted a crown lift is required, this was agreed. Parking meter have been upgraded to 4G.
   3. Town Hall – Nothing to report                                                        
   4. Demesne Mill – Parking meter has been upgraded to 4G
   5. Thornley Woods – Estimate for fencing works was agreed.                  
   6. Allotments – All plots are taken, Mill Isle allotments are to be included in the National Garden Scheme Open Gardens to be held on the 28/06/25.
   7. Angate Street Toilets – Nothing to report.
8. Finance
   1. Payments & Reports for February 2025 – Agreed.
9. Policy Reviews – Annual review of policies would take place at the April meeting, all Councillors to look at the Policies on the website prior to the meeting.   Action ALL
10. Parish Council Elections - submission of candidate nomination papers will take place from 21/03/25 at 10.00am to 02/04/25 at 4.00pm. The deadline for candidate withdrawals is also the 02/04/25 at 4.00pm. The publication of the Statement of Persons nominated will be on 3rd April at 4.00pm. If an election is required this will take place on 01/05/25.
11. PLANNING – The Chair confirmed that the council had submitted a comment to DCC Planning regarding the application DM/24/03451/FPA – Proposed 2 no. semi-detached dwellings at Chapel Walls, Uppertown
12. No further comments were made regarding planning matters
